JULES ANA

Sound artist Jules Ana specializes in the Japanese koto, with music spanning genres of experimental, noise, lo-fi, post-rock, and contemporary classical. She reinterprets traditional koto music and creates original work that celebrates the unique sounds of a koto.

She pursues “a symphony of noise” – using koto as the driver to layer melody with percussive sounds, atonal bowing, and electronic modulation. Informed by her professional experience in healthcare, she seeks to create an emotional connection between herself, the koto, and the audience.

She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her partner and their two cats.
